Digital Nomad Programs to Fuel Your Wanderlust

WeWork Devonshire

Digital nomads are on the riseand have transformed the workforce. Forbespredicts that by 2027 more than 50% of the US population will be working as freelancers. Working as a digital nomad doesn’t just mean remotely, it means that you can literally work from anywhere in the world.

While this may sound like a dream to some, others think of this sort of lifestyle as lonely and isolating. To combat this, many digital nomad programs have popped up to help meet the demand. These programs offer a living space, a group of people who are also working remotely, new locations and, of course, wi-fi.

Here is a breakdown of some of the top digital nomad programs around currently:

1. WiFi Tribe

WiFi Tribe is a coliving, coworking program that offers chapters worldwide. You can opt-in to as many months as you’d like, with the cost getting cheaper the more you book (ranges from $900–1600 a month depending on location and room type). People rave about the great sense of community and the small, close-knit vibe you get since each chapter only has around 15–20 people.

2. Unsettled

Unsettled describes the company as “Unsettled is a community for those who embrace uncertainty and value meaningful human connections.” The retreats cost anywhere from $2000–3000 per month, making it a more expensive option, but they include activities, housing, internet and access to the local community. You can also choose which retreats you want to join based on the locations and length of time that suits your schedule.

3. Hacker Paradise

Hacker Paradise calls themselves the “World’s First International Remote Work Travel Group.” The program offers flexible travel, with options as little as two weeks, with flexible prices from $450–750 per week. This program isn’t just for those who work remotely, but is also available for those who want to work on a personal project or goal.

4. Remote Year

Remote Year is one of the better-known programs and originally started as a yearlong program where the group of 75 people change locations each month. However, the have recently launched shorter programs to create more options. It costs $2000 per month, but also requires an upfront payment of $3000–5000. It is one of the only programs that also includes travel between destinations, making it all-inclusive and a very easy option for those who hate to plan.

Each program has its own pros and cons, but all are great ways to seamlessly transition freelancing from home to freelancing worldwide. Traveling and working already as a digital nomad? Download WiFi Map today and contribute to our growing community!
